Life Lafde aur Bandiyan

With the outbreak of COVID-19, we are all locked in our homes since March 25th. It’s a long forty day period and nobody would deny that a Wi-Fi connection has been one of the most essential service during this tough time. While our parents busy forwarding Corona headlines of all sorts, our generation has explored all what they could, from Prime to Netflix to Disney-Hotstar, most of you would be having one or more of these subscriptions.

For those of us who don’t, YouTube comes to the rescue with multiple short series still freely available to binge on. Life Lafde aur Bandiyan is one such series which I chanced upon while randomly scrolling through the home page of YouTube. I must say, one of the best of its genre and comparable to the very famous, funky series College Romance which was released last year.

PLOT

It is a journey of three friends, Rishabh, Chewang and Pappi, who aspire to have a happening college life and always think of ways of being famous in the campus but it rather puts them into trouble with results which are not only opposite to their expectations, they are rather devastating.

Set in the Delhi University campus, the three friends always stick together no matter what. They are their worst enemies as well; always up to some mischief to embarrass the other two, but they got each other’s backs which is what true friendship is about. The series’ main protagonist Rishabh wants to date Anju, apparently the hottest chick in college and also the girl friend of college’s stud boy, Spunky Narula. Anju is friends with Rishabh for the sweet boy he is and has a soft corner for him. Spunky doesn’t see any point in his girl friend talking to the guy who is tagged as college’s biggest loser, Rishabh but Anju eventually discovers that she shares a special connection with him.

STAR OF THE SERIES

Surely we want to tag Pappi played by Harshit Sidhwani as star of the series. What a character and what dialogues delivery and what timings! We can’t stop wondering at all how amazingly, hilariously he has done justice to the character of a boy who’s reckless, innocent and too excited like a teenager.

We wish that there was another season to this one but some good things end abruptly. So if you’re getting bored and do not have a SVOD service, this is one series you can definitely go for. It will leave you in a total laughter riot and shocked with what comes next.
