OPERATION MBBS

*Confession Alert* After Season 1 I did not even think once to review this series but here I am writing it out.

So what has changed? You guessed it right!! Season 2 was out since quite some time but I watched it only 2 days back and the last epsiode....oh well let's go in the chronological order you :D So yes it was the 2nd part of this series that prompted me to put it up on my blog for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaal you lovelies to read and decide for yourself if you wanna give it a try :)

Plot: 3 students, one, a brilliant girl, another an underdog from the not so priviledged background and third one, the typical bigde baap ki rahees aulad; well no, he is a good kid who gave into the pressure of his father's aspiration for him. All of them start their journey of becoming a doctor with no common underlying motive yet sync in very well from Day 1 of college. This story is about how they sail through 2 tough years of MBBS and a little more.

Season 1 ended with Huma (the studious girl) deciding not to cheat in order to top, Sakshi helping a cafeteria owner's son with NEET exams and Nishant doing something insignificant as usual. Start Season 2 and you see a dead body departing the college premises and it didn't create much impact on me. Surprisingly, movies and web series where one should and can be all emotional and a cry baby, I generally don't. I wish I could be so in life though (make sad aww noise).

The story actually starts after this scene. The students are in 2nd year now, Sakshi, happy and relaxed; Huma, as stressed as she could be and Nishant, as normal as he could be (a typical management quota student :p). Sakshi is someone who has to poke her nose in everyone's affair, she is a good friend but annoying af, she would not think twice before doing something as ridiculous as posting about her Dean on social media without even knowing the facts of the case. Sab apne aap ko Indiranagar ka Goonda samjh rahe hai aajkal toh 😕 Nishant is involved in some low key college fest totally forgetting about why he is in an MBBS college.

And then there is Huma! A character that I liked a lot, could resonate with because she has a certain level of depth to what she does, why she does and all of that with a sense of sincerity. She is the closest to what real people and their stories look like (not because she has a sad one :p). Cliched but true, we still have parents who would put their children under immense pressure in terms of their choices, career, personal both. If you ain't one of those who take it very seriously, good for you but kids do crumble under that invisible weight of expectations and a recent example was the young wrestler, Ritika Phogat, who committed suicide. In this journey, Huma discovers herself a bit, loses herself even more, but moves one step ahead in overcoming it, through tears, laughter and love.

Last but not the least, the sound track is what makes this series a must watch for all you senti peeps out there. Sung in the lovely voices of Karthik Rao and Ronkini Gupta, these songs will add all the missing flavor and more. If you do not want to still watch, fine but do check out these songs and the artists' Instagram handles and give them a shoutout for the soulful work they did.
